Why the feck should FIFA give ANY money to Newcastle in compensation....and that goes for the FA aswell!!!! confised

It's not as if Owen was fouled intentionally and caused the injury but even that doesn't justify the claims for money!!!! confised

Surely Football does cause injuries from time to time but I just cannot understand why any governing body has to pay out!!!! confised

In my book it's just as bad as the FA still paying The Swede his wages for sitting on his arse!!!! confised

BTW....I'm not sticking up for FIFA here....I think they are just as badly ran and corrupt as the FA!!!! :evil:

What have we got?? Wayne 'Oops I've been sent off again' Rooney and Steven 'man on his own' Gerrard. The rest are make weights. Stop them playing at 200mph and they're shagged. I don't know why we're always favourites apart from it makes the bookies richer. We weren't even any good when we won the World Cup.

The whole international set up has changed dramatically over the last 20 years, it's basically gone from being an honour to just another media exposure/money making opportunity for the celebrity 'sportsmen' that are now the mainstay of the Premiership. The whole sorry spectacle of the WAGS, just about summed up the sordid level to which the show had sunk, drained of any dignity. :roll:

It's now an irrelevance, what would dear old Alf have made of it all... God bless him.

You hit the nail on the head there Kev, thats exactly why they are favourites. Bookies odds on any large event are always just a reflection of where the money is going. They know that whatever price they offer on England plenty of deluded people will snap them up. I never bet on England whoever they are playing for just that reason.

You see the same thing on things like the FA Cup final. Just about everyone bets on one team or the other leaving a Draw overpriced. I always bet on a draw on Cup Final Day and over the years am well in profit (even after a very bad run in the mid 90's!).
