Rivals attracts all the worst kind of posters - trolls/abuse merchants/people full of their own self importance/ people who can only develop some sort of personal character through this medium because they have no friends in real life etc etc - plus the added unattractive proposition of constant thread hijacks by rival fans who basically ruin the boards for me (present company excepted). Banter is always better in an environment like this one. The best message boards have all realised that developing a message board community into something really worthwhile is by being difficult to find for all the halfwits. Let's face it, they can only seem to find Rivals anyway.
It never ceases to amaze me when I see the odd message posted on a deserted Rivals site by an opposing fan, who then actually thinks that club's fans have no internet access because there is nobody there to reply to him/her!!! The realisation that they might actually be somewhere else seems to be a concept too far for the typical Rivals poster.

*cough* Lincoln *cough*

Took me ages to find their online hangout - it doesn't register on Dogpile, the metasearch engine I use! Found them in the end - there's no hiding from UpTheSaddlers!
