I'm planning to change the site somewhat. This forum will remain completely unchanged but there will be a front page www.pooliebunker.co.uk complete with news feeds, chatroom and some other stuff.

What I'm after is suggestions from the floor on any other inclusions that you would like that you may have seen elsewhere.

serious comments please, no redtube link requests or any daft stuff.

My personal opinion is I would prefer this part of the Bunker to be totally football orientated. Not just Pools as some are interested in other aspects of the game.

So with that in mind maybe an off topic room (I know I have posted off topic threads) but things like Music/word association etc to be put on that board. May make reading just a football page more inviting to some. Not all I know.

I disagree too im afraid bob.

I like the insane randomness of some posts in this board. its obvious my looking at the headings if they are football related. eg, anything by me is clearly worth ignoring, anything by muttly will be about john smiths or ska, anything from talbot will be darlo bashing etc etc.

I still think this board is brilliant when people are not slagging each other off, it must be great if its the first website i log into each day.

No radical changes needed imo. more smileys would be good like

Just me then, looks like a non starter, it just my lack of knowledge on music (Ok some will say just a lack of knowledge on anything), that I want it out of the way when just moving from thread to thread.

Bob, you might not know anything about music but you can regale us with your knowledge of bromochlorodifluromethane.

i wish i didn't have to but i agree with Grave sadx

It doesn't matter what the threads title is, each and every one is like stepping through the wardrobe doors into Narnia. Complete and utter chaos & madness! Nothing is ever as it seems.

Especially when half the threads turn into fish related puns

BCF there's a blast from the past. Think they changed it name to Halon 1211, part of the freon family used as an agent to extinguish fires where valuable things may be held.

If I'm right(and this your expertise subject) 2 or 3 soldiers with no medical history were killed by it after inhaling it( round about the early 90s). it was an accident. Think they were in a tank/aircraft. Resulted in fact can only be used in confined spaces once the area has been evacuated of all people.

I did some training on the Green goddesses in the 80's when you lot were throwing your rattles. The one thing that stuck in my mind was not to breate in BCF .

I only threw my rattles in 2002 mate wasn't in service for the original 77 strike.

Mind you in the 80s many other Brigades were going on strike.Just wasn't a national one.

In all seriousness that training saved my life.

We were taught to go low for visibility so you could see below the smoke. Smokes rises etc (for the uninitiated). Back in 87 I was home on leave as i remember and I was caught in a house fire in Throston. The training came back to me and I'm convinced that it was the only reason I got out of that house alive.

I know you obviously know but unless you've seen it at close quarters, the speed of that fire whips through a house is astounding.

True mate when it goes it goes. I was on the Focus job late 80s, and what made it worse was it had a fire resistance roof. With it building up and up heat wise it finally broke through at one end within 10-20 seconds it had gone the whole length of the building and Focus wasn't exactly small.

Glad the training helped you mate. Maybe I should get some on dealing with terrorists.

And here's me wanting an off topic room probably would never look at it. Another Fetish stupid idea.

Or alternatively, been very unlucky to find myself in these situations. But that what you get when your sister leaves fags burning in a bedroom.

If I remember right wasn't he slightly alight outside when the original crews turned up. I was on the make up so missed that bit. But I'm sure was told they had to stick hose reel on him, put him out.
