Yeah he's come from non-league. I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, the window only applies to transfers between clubs of league stature.

I have two words of warning. Kirk Jackson!! 45 a season for Worksop, sod all for darlo, Yeovil etc etc....... I hope this feller makes me look daft.

The difference is, when Darlo signed Jackson he was hyped up as going to score hatfuls, be their number one striker etc. We all know that MacKay is basically on an extended trial and is well down the pecking order behind Barker, Porter (when fit), Eifion, Brown, Foley... he'll have to put in some cracking perfomrances for the ressies even to get into contention for the bench.....

Kirk Jackson had also tried and failed at League clubs a couple of times previous to darlo signing him.

Had he?? I thought he came through Worksop and went straight to Darlo. I know he had a season and a half cracking them in in the Unibond Prem before the Conference North came in and Worksop were flirting with the Conference.

Kirk Jackson was born on 16 October 1976 and grew up in East Yorkshire, where he began playing football at the age of 10.

Despite starting out as a midfielder, his goal-scoring potential was soon spotted and he swiftly settled into the role of striker.

At the age of 16 Kirk left school and joined Sheffield Wednesday as a two-year YTS player, followed by a further year as a pro.

On his release from Wednesday he was snapped up by Scunthorpe, where he made his league debut aged 19 against Chester and soon netted his first league goal at Hereford.

He spent a year at Scunthorpe and another at Chesterfield before dropping out of full-time football to play for Worksop for two and a half years.

During his last year at Worksop he scored 40 goals and it was back to league football again, this time with Darlington.

But Jackson didn't enjoy his time at Darlington and decided to sign instead for Stevenage.

He was a member of the Stevenage squad who went down 2-0 to Yeovil in the FA Trophy final in 2002 and ironically it was Yeovil where Jackson went next, signed by Gary Johnson.

After two years with the Glovers, Jackson moved to Hornchurch at the start of the 2004-2005 season but when their financial plight meant they could no longer offer him full-time football, Jackson put pen to paper and became a Terra.
