Just spoke to the brother-in law on his way back from Spotland, he reckons we should have won. Had chances but did'nt take them. Well happy with a point.

At the end of the day, considering hardly any of us expected anything other than a comfortable loss today, the point gained has to be seen as a plus. There is little question that it is a poorer result for Rochdale as they could hardly have asked for a better opening fixture to life in League 1. At home against a red hot favourite for relegation.

From the reports I've heard so far on both the radio and final score Pools bossed more or less the entire game and should have won with four excellent chances going to waste. Not great news but then I suppose it isn't exactly surprising.

It's still tempting to go along with the belief that Colchester (the next team to visit Spotland) will put this result into grim perspective but until that happens I think we can celebrate a better than anticipated start to the new season.

Well done Pools.

We should have got the three points and we would have deserved them.
One of their players should have got his marching orders for the tackle on Austin. Right under the nose of the linesman who flagged for a foul and then was asked about it by the ref, who showed a yellow.
Their goal had a charmed life at times and the home goalie put in a five star performance...............as they do against us.... banghead
Early doors to say how the season will pan out based on today but an encouraging start.
Well done Pools.
Well done to the efforts of a very good Pools turnout, who got behind the team right from the start.
Only blackspot was that the bloody chip shop owner was on holiday !!!!!!!!!! Inconsiderate bounder !!!!!!! sadx

I'll 2nd that. Was starving when I got there. That chippy come highly recommended so we had to get a pie from the pub.
Enjoyed the match cos they tried and should have had it 3 -1.
Where did Susan Boyle get to?

Could it be that Turner is starting with the tactic of first priority being not losing. I suppose picking up a point away from home is always a positive so give credit where its due.

He can do all the warm ups he likes for all I care. It's the 90 minutes that follow it (or 50 in his case) that worry me.

We broke down on the way back at Wetherby services and prior to that someone on the coach decided to have a piss, the fact the bus had no bog on board didn't seem to matter
