Hmmmm... not always one to do this but....

Flinders 7 - some sharp saves, kicking a little interesting though

Austin 7 - solid game, foul on him was a shocker
Collins 8 - looked comfortable
Hartley 7 - did well overall, one or two dodgy moments with Flinders but improved as the game went on
Horwood 8 - Defended well, and got forward to good effect too. Already looks a good signing.

Brown 7.5 - tended to drift into the centre a little too much but Dale couldn't cope when he ran at them
Gamble 7 - did a decent job holding in the centre and breaking up play, making himself available to the back four etc.
Sweeney 8 - a revelation going forward, held the ball well and did a lot of chasing to good effect. Looked a real asset today.
Murray 7 - See Gamble! Did the same sort of job, not spectacular, but it allowed the others to get forward without worrying about what was happening behind them which is important.
Monkhouse 7 - used his physical presence well, looked up for it.

Bjornsson 5 - He's not the guy for 4-5-1 on this showing - whether fitness or otherwise, he simply wasn't mobile enough to cause too many problems for the defence. He can hold the ball well enough, but we couldn't break quickly at all as he couldn't really chase stuff down.

Subs:
Boyd 7.5 - Unlucky not to have scored, and made a big difference - with him we dominated after the break in the way we hadn't before.
McSweeney 7 - Did nowt wrong, not quite the flair of Brown but solid enough.
Haslam - Not on long enough.

Flinders 8 couple of fantastic saves first half
Austin 7 Struggled first half against an excellant winger, but got better 2nd half
Hartley 8 Had a commanding game. Much better at centre half
Collins 7.5 Kept things tight and was a threat in their box
Horwood 8 Very impressive game. Good linking up with monky.
Brown 8 Looked dangerous and worked hard all game.
Murray 7.5 Protected the back four with some good tackles
Gamble 7 Plenty of energy, but gave the ball away a few times
Sweeney 8.5 Very effective today. Great at supporting our attacks.
Monkhouse 7.5 Worked hard and always looked dangerous
Bjornnson 4.5 Slow, Weak and quite simply not good enough

Boyd 8.5 Made us look a much better team when he came on. It went from an even first half to us battering them 2nd half after he came on.

Mcsweeney 7.5 Though he was very positive when he came on.

Haslam wasn't on long enough.

Overall i thought we played really well. You could see Wadsworths influence on the team, we looked the fitter team and everyone give 100%. Our fans where fantastic and really got behind the team, and the team responded. Its not very often you get to see Boyd and Brown on the pitch together, but for the half hour we saw of them yesterday, the signs look very promising !!!!

Credit to peter hartley, id give up on him till yesterday, he was excellent, commanding, alert, won a lot in the air and put in some crunching tackles which delighted the supporters, well done sir, mom for me!

Im feeling a fair bit more optimistic after reading this thread. While I think Bjornnson isnt as bad as some are making out, if we start playing boyd week in week out then maybe we can have a better season than the last two. Im pretty gutted now that I cant make the Swindon game.

Its also good to hear that Hartley had a good game, I will gladly admit I was wrong if he proves to be an effective centre half.

as always, it seems the travelling fans gave great support to the team and the team responded even if it was just a point. I wonder if they get the same support from the home fans next week sctatchinghead
