Hi lads. Rochdale fan here. Saturday is going to prove a brilliant day, first game of the season etc.

How many should we expect of you guys? I really do hope you bring a fair few to Spotland. 1000? We are a respectable lot of fans, but watch out for the famous rochdale youth 'YCF' they will robb your sweets off you

The Willbutts Lane Chippy is right outside the away end, which alot of away fans enjoy, and also youve got the Boozer on the same road, Church Inn.

I genually hope you dont underestimate us. We might be bookies fave's to go down at 2/1 but we dont go without a fight. Im going for a respectable 3-1 Rochdale win.

Cheers lads. refyellow

Welcome to League 1, remember this division is dominated by Southern teams, so is more difficult for us Northern teams to survive in. Hope you have a good season. A lot of us are familiar with your place from previous visits many seasons ago.

Wasn't it Rochdale's away end that allowed you to still watch the game whilst visiting the gents? (and by that, I mean while you were actually taking a piss!!!) Had some good away days there. Best of luck!

Underestimate? No chance mate, a number of us expect to get beat on Saturday. We must be joint favourites to go down with you....4-4-2 magazine have predicted us to finish 24th!

Welcome to League One, nice to see you finally get out of League 2 and us playing familiar foes again. Hopefully you have a first season in League One like we did after our promotion in 2001 / 2002. Best of luck.

no although my late brother went to the bog at spotland in the 80's and we scored with minutes to go and he pissed down his leg trying to rush back out we then explained that they dont do replays at live games so he might as well have finished pissing

You certainly could at Crewe in the 80's. What an away end, 3 steps in an open end and a the bog was simply a wall that you had a slash up against at the back of the terrace. Proper football ground/happy days

Yes, I remember doing just that on my first visit there. 1985 I think it was. We won 0-2 with goals from Alan Shoulder and John Borthwick.
