Been in touch with a Hibs supporting mate from Auld Reekie.
He vaguely remembers Yantorno & thinks he came on as a sub a few times but not much more than that.
Reckons Paatelinan let him go after a few games cos' he was shyte.
Rumoured to have ongoing ( right) knee problems apparently.
Word is -Yantorno did ok at Scots Div 1 but no good at higher level & not reliably fit.

Waddo will know more about the guy from his time at Chester but so far, I'm less optimistic abt this guy than Horwood & Murray.

Bring back Jonny Rowell from the Belgian Third Division!

probably better speaking to some gretna fans if you know any.

he played for them in the scottish premier league for a season i'm led to believe.

Chip, you're right he did-on & off . Word is he did ok at Div 1 ( i.e level 2) but not so well at the higher level but I guess that was true of most of that Gretna team!

I know a few Northern League lads who have followed Gretna through the Mileson years.
They all reckon the same abt Yanturo.
MIGHT be ok at our level but don't expect too much. A few of these lads watch Pools intermittently too so they know how shyte we've been the last year or three.

One lad compared Yanturo to Jonesy if that's any kind of comparison. :uhoh:

He didnt play for Gretna in the 1st div. Just in the SPL. He was a quality player and a free kick specialist. Championship clubs were following him until he got his knee smashed. Hibs took a chance on him, and took over his rehabilitation, but he never got back to ful fitness.

If he is fit you have a quality player on your hands. He is a very harding working player

Cheers mr White. Kinda sounds promising, hopefully it will prove similar to gamble we took with gordan Watson!
