Post subject: The bastids have stopped me....

ESA. Employment & Support allowance, the not nice people

So three months after major surgery I had a medical by what I can only describe as a 'quack' and he, not my GP decided I was fit enough to go back to work

The questions asked of me were laughable

Such as

'Do you watch TV'

Well yes of course I fooking do!

'Do you struggle to remember things'

How does this possibly relate to the treatment I had

And to think all the cuntios like Peter Ownes never get their money stopped.....

It's just as well I got myself fixed up with a job

The benefits sysems is an A1 fookin sham

Pretend to be an alcoholic or on smack then they'll help you out.

It's true, if you have worked then find yourself on the jam roll they hound you to fuck, Monkey Harris had the same issue

Go in as a raggy arsed twat, they don't want to deal with you, too much like hard work

Still, at least I got fixed up with something quite quick

Getting back to work quickly is always good.

I do always get confused about how the system works though (and I deal with the job centre quite a lot) the most raggy and useless lazy morons get loads of help and find getting free money easy. Anyone who is a bit embarassed about being there, and would rather be cleaning shite from cuckoo clocks than signing on is usually made to feel like a thief for asking for help and often end up with nowt.

It's always worth appealing against decisions like that, though, Talbot. A surprising number of appeals are allowed if they're heard by a DSS tribunal. You don't even have to turn up at the hearing if you don't want to......just ask to have your case reassessed.
I'd do that even if you're going back to work. If you're entitled to the money, you should claim it.
Good luck with the new job.

When I worked there, the rule was that you didn't get any benefit for the first 3 days of your claim, and then you're given a specific 'payday' every fortnight when your benefit is paid, in arrears. So you often had to wait a bit for the first payment....even so, not having heard anything for 5 weeks is totally unreasonable. I'd ask to see a supervisor if I were you.
