Like Davisons on the Fens clappp clappp Best since Tommy Leighton, I know our lass will buy buy shyte meat from a supermarket when shes shoppin but Yer can't beat quality

what is defined as a proper butcher nowadays, i remember as a lad eddie grieves at trimdon slaughtering the beast, sheep and pigs then carving the meat as the customer would want it.
i agree most of it now is prepacked although most butchers buy there meat in carcases and cut it to size. only butchers i know who slaughter there stock now is bolams at sedgefield

aye i was going to say Bolams it's top quality meat and they have veg and fish as well. an excellent shop.

Same family but Jimmy was a butcher. He had the one one Raby Road next to the Chester. He bought it from Lenny Betts about 1977. I worked there as a kid.

The one thing I learned from working in a butchers was that there's nothing like making sausages for getting your hands really really clean. :uhoh:
