Always enjoyed going to Blyth Spartans a few years ago when our young-un was with them, great food and a really good club house and set up !
seen quite a few ex pools players playing for various teams, Denny Ingram, Ian Clarke to name a couple, I remember once Darren knowles was playing for the opposition and our young-un was made up cos it was his favourite pools player, when he was a little kid !! (any way our young-un was in total awe and shite  )
The crowd had some good craic as well, i remember they used to sing a great version of the classic 'We hate nottingham forest' (sung to the tune of Land of hope and glory) it was something like

'We hate ilk es ton Town
We hate gateshead too 'AND WHITBY'
We hate grays athletic
but spartans we love you !

clappp used always tickle me that !!

I wonder if The Vic would feature on this thread if it was on other club's boards?

Missed this yesterday.
Had some great days out watching pools all over but probably one of the best was Scarborough when Mick Tate was manager, watching it on the hill outside with loads of cans. We won 4-2 as well.
Then there was hell on at the end, it was like Zulu. Brilliant day out.
Remember that Mutley? Monkeyhangers? Poolieles?
Was anyone else there off here?

We were in the stand behind the goal watching the shennanigans on the hill during the match.

Was that when we first signed Micky Barron on loan and he was playing in midfield? And when there were rumours of Garry Bennet taking over as Pools boss and songs being sung about us not wanting him or were they other drink fuelled days in Scarborough?

One of my best away days was at Hereford, not really the best ground in the world, i think it was 3-1and Paul Dalton scored a couple of goals. It might be my memory playing tricks but the pools fans seemed to stay behind singing forever after the game.

A couple of Non league ground's i liked are Durham, before it went artificial and Penrith, cos you used to get a canny crowd in and i was a good night out afterwards.

That was the 90/91 promotion season and our last away match (one Paul Dalton, there's only one Paul Dalton). I went down in the back of a transit, wonder if any of you guys were in it sctatchinghead I didn't know anyone apart from Greg (?) as I was a billy no mates in those days too :uhoh: I remember everyone jumping out of the van to chase after some Hereford fans after the match and I felt I had to join in, although if I did catch up with one I think I would have bbolt Also remember stopping at a pub in worcester I think on the way back and finally, getting them to pull over on the motorway at one point cos I needed to spew :uhoh: Happy days clappp clappp clappp
