Not exactly a dramatic reaction by the Scot that you've won a £1,000,000 recording content - more stunned more anything.

Single is trying to be inspirational but Two Little Boys is way more inspirational then that single.

I really thought Same Difference would win that, if Rhydian was beatable.

How does that work? Leon can't sing. Is it like a slow bicycle race?

Caught the end of it, not by choice though. I thought the Welsh guy Rhydian came over as a bit arrogant and that was why the other guy won. Either way, both those lads can sing, and sing very well.

Give over Mr I; Leon couldn't sing to save his goolies. He sang consistently out of tune. His version of White Christmas was diabolical. refred He was clearly trying to sing beyond his abilities in all the songs he sang. He has less talent than your average pub singer.
Rhydian on the other hand can sing anything, effortlessly. He has the right to be arrogant but it was purely stage arrogance.

Give Leon six months and he'll never be heard of again. He won because they turned it into a nationalistic thing: Don't vote for the best; vote for your closest. Way to go to find talent.

P.S. Leon was really (really, really) mediocre.

P.P.S. What the fook is a 1m pound recording contract? Who gets the 1m quid?

I will now sleep soundly in my bed tonight..... 'happy' in the knowledge that some irrelevant karaoke-esque 'singer' has won some equally bland talent show that is lttle more than an ego transport for it's judges.

Haway Snowy, what about Journey South - I wanted them to win being from the North East and they were good.

I would have watched it if there had been a band on it with a name such as The Sp-un-ky Nun F-uc-ks, singing songs called "Baby I love you (when you polish my helmet clean when I've shot me whack in yer clout)"

I didn't want a north-east act to win it; in fact I didn't especially want anyone to win it. I just thought that maybe people voting for the next singing star might have chosen someone who could actually fookin' sing.
The guy who won "sings" even worse than Simon le Bon.

It's light years away.... .. and I don't believe in this North East myth by the way... it's like the rarfs who say..."I want to see all the North east teams do well"... without ever giving the subject any meaningful thought...When I first heard this, the blandest of comments, many years ago, I thought ..how would that affect Pools.... do the maths!.......

I can safely say that I've never lowered myself to watch that cack.

Nor have I stooped so low as to view that dancy programme.

I'm glad I'm not old like you lot and sat in front of the telly in my slippers on a Saturday night. :sweeeet:

Smoggies, Magpies, Mackems in the Prem, Pools in L1 AND Darlo in L2

Surely it wouldn't affect Pools at all, we're all in different leagues aren't we ? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

I reckon Same Difference should apply for Eurovision (no, really, I mean that) - I think they've got something.

You make a good point John, but we seem to have gone off at a tangent.

I didn't people from Hartlepool / Poolie Exiles hated Middlesbrough so much - not defending the town but why do we hate it (apart from Journey South, worst place to live in UK - how the hell did Medway get on that list, etc)

I'm probably alone on here in that I don't hate Middlesbrough [not the FC], I was born there, lived there for quite a while - mind South Bank I do hate, the worst experience ever living there.... - and I have loads of friends there.

Usually have a good night out there if I can avoid Sumo/play/A.N other club etc

It's the sort of society we've become.. we've elevated celebrity and trivia, mere amusments, to the very core of our society, that's why our politicians get away with doing just what they like. Close your hospital and nobody does anything, vote for some warbling rarf and the phone lines go into meltdown........ funny old world innit?...... sctatchinghead
