Flinders - 8. Couple of good stops and collected every cross near him. Solid game.
Austin - 7. Slow start in which he nearly lost his head. Recovered well and linked up with leon vey well.
Hartley -7. Same as Austin. Much better second half looked very confident which was good to see.
Collins -6. Struggled at times yesterday. Didn't look switched on. Did finish the game well when we were under pressure.
Liddle -8. Another solid game from lids fitting straight back in. Mopped up and looked calm as ever.
Gamble -6. Another game he looked half a yard off eveyone. Tries some good things but just not going for him at present. Doesn't go hiding though.
Rich the hump -7. Another steady game. Was surprised he went off before gamble.
Monkhouse -7. Linked well with brown and looked dangerous going forward. Helped out with the high balls from Colchester when we needed him too.
Mcsweeney -7. Another good game from leon. Workrate is exellent. Doesn't mind having a run at someone and put in some good crosses. Sometimes needs to be more direct.
O'donavon -7. Ran the line well and first goal was a brilliant touch and turn.
Brown -7. Anything into his feet and he looks like the browny of old. Has Roy to do his running and looks a good partnership if only early doors. Took his goal well.

Boyd, jones and sweeney all came on and didn't do much. Boyd had two nice flicks and sweeney covered back well.

I wouldnt disagree with much of that. maybe a touch kind on Monkhouse and a little bit harsh on Mcsweeney imo.

An 8 for Flinders a bit generous as he made their goal easy too. You dont just stand in the middle between player and your goal, your giving him all the time in the world to decide what to do. Either rush at his feet and make him panic or move back. Apart from that he did well again.

Mcsweeney motm.

I saw Collins after the game he was in a lot of pain with his hip probably should not have played but given the ariel threat from Col U thought he had to.
Thats commitment to the cause.

I don't think Flinders could be in any way blamed for their opener. He was more or less outnumbered three to one!
