...as of 1200 BST due to an eruption of volcanic ash from a volcano in Iceland that the wind has blown across most of Northern Europe (BBC).

If anyone's thinking of flying today, they'd better check with airline.

Some people are unhappy at what the authorities have had to do, but we simply have no control on what's happening on a small island near the Arctic Circle.

Why do you say 'small island' ? It's about the same size as Ireland you know POK.

Initial reports are wrong, the large dust over our airspace was in fact caused by the trophy cabinet being cleaned at Newcastle FC

Traditionally, for some reason, population size has been an indicator of how "great" a country is. Iceland has a population of 320,000 people approximately - that's about the size of Leicester. If you factor that in, they could be thought of as "small" compared to UK, USA, Russia, China, Germany etc.

Ireland has a population of roughly 5 million.

I was trying to emphasise the point that things that happen in places that are seemingly small and very far away can have a more wider impact. The first place that this cloud has directly affected is the UK, Heathrow is the busiest airport in the world.

So when Heathrow suffers, it has a knock-on effect on the rest of the world.
That's why what started under a glacier on the South Coast of Iceland has now spread to Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland and Russia.

It may be about 40 years since they won something but at least the dust cloud coming from their trophy cabinet wont be as bad as the one in yours

There is no dust in our trophy cabinet, it's airtight and has never been opened, so there!!

Well, strange enough the scope of ash is only covering the Southern part of the UK at the moment, so Shotton hasn't been directly affected, but the whole of the country's airspace has been shut.

Girl From Mars was OK, but they were only 15 then. Anyone who plays a flying V when he's 15 is going to burn out quickly. Weighs as much as Mr Bus after a Adams diet.

You win a trophy for being runners up in League Two, I've seen us presented it the last two seasons we've been in it.

Do you get anything for being the worst team in the country? I mean apart from trips to Hayes and Yeading and the Dog and Duck??
