Flinders 8......2 outstanding saves
Austin 6.5.....Made a couple of poor decisions, some wayward passing.
Collins 7.......Steady away.
Hartley 7......Looked much more comfortable in the centre, passing still poor at times.
Haslam 5...... The weak link in the defence
Mcsweeney 9....Outstanding energy & desire. plenty of good link up play and some great crosses.
Humphreys 8...whats happened to him? Outstanding chasing & tackling, only his passing let him down at times
Gamble 7....Great goal, could have had a 2nd, more like his old self although some wayward passing
Monkey 7.....in and out of the game, anticipated his goal well
ODonovan 7.5...Took his goal well, never stopped running and linked up well with Brown
Brown 8....Looked sharp and hungry, linked up well with O'do and McSweeney, ran with the ball at will.

Very entertaining game. We could have had 6, they could have had 3. A couple of World Class saves from Flinders. Some very bright attacking play. One more win for probable safety!

Agree with most of that except

Haslam 6... Still dont think he's good enough long term but held his own tonight.
Gamble 5... his passing was shocking and the I think the keeper must have fallen asleep for his goal.
O'Donovan 8.5... If we can keep hold of him and keep Browny fit, I think we'll have a cracking season next season.

Also thought Clark was improved when he came on.

I dont think Haslam deserves a 5, he is never gonna set the world alight but i think he does his job well, he looks to me like a good team player, prepared to do the boring jobs.

I would give Flinders man of the match for his saves, we were the better team and Stockport were poor, but his saves stopped it from being a nervy evening

I don't agree with Humps getting an 8. I thought he was at his anonymous best for most of game.

I thought they were'nt that bad a side. Their keeper pulled off 3 good saves from McSweeney alone. Little blondey was lucky to stay on the field though, but did have a useful game himself. Browny showed a lot more guile tonight. Good 3 pts.

P.S thought Humps looked a yard quicker than normal, and looks to have shed a few pounds to me.

They certainly had a good chance when a mix up at the back early doors let their number 10 through. How poor was he by the way? I thought their best period was the 15 mins at the end of the game. But, of course, they were already 2-0 down by that point.

those ratings are crazy. stockport were abysmal and still wegifted them 5 great opportunities. hartley was dreadful. we were the better of 2 terribl teams. mcsweeney and flinders our best performers. the rest were average at best.

Hartley 5 Got caught in possession a few times, not convinced with him at centre half.
Brown 7 His best performance since coming back from injury

I have no idea how you can mark Haslam two less than Hartley!!?? In both half’s Hartley against a better side could have cost us a goal, when it hit his back first half and late on when he got robbed. We were faced be Western Europe’s worst centre forward tonight in Jabo Ibehre, he wouldn’t have scored if most of us had marked him. In fairness his second shot from distance in the second half nearly went out for a goal kick the first threatened the half way line!

Haslam was pretty sound 6 out of 10 like he normally is, he is steady away but nothing flash, he doesn't do much wrong or on the other hand much spectacular.

I'm seriously starting to doubt whether Hartley is up to it.

It's the best game I've seen McSweeney have, he put over a great cross first half as well when O'Donovan should have scored but I still think the lad is a bit of a headless chicken.

I quite the like the lads workrate which is superb but he rarely beats a man or chooses the right option. He's quick and works his nuts off which makes him worth a shirt at the moment.

Agree we had some good performers but we were still all over the place in the box and they missed three absolute sitters. And this was one of the worst league one teams i've ever seen.

Mcsweeney has abeen a breath of fresh air. Brilliant engine and playing very well at the moment.

Wasnt impressed with Brown, looks too weak and lost a yard of pace but thats probably down to his injury, hope he gets it back.

Not quite sure what Haslam has to do to get any praise, puts in a decent if unspectacular performance every time and its no surprise were conceding less.

Tonight he looked miles sharper, he'll only get back by playing.

He was pretty good tonight and we played a lot better stuff in the final third as a result.

How does Flinders rate as 8/10 ?
He kept a clean sheet & made 2 top class saves. As far as Im concerned he was 10/10 last night.

I can't remember him doing anything wrong, so I concur with Mr Groovy.
I hope he's on at least a three year contract, so that we benefit when the big boys come sniffing. If he isn't then get him on one.

fair points, i personally thought McSweeney was MOM, so tried to show my figures relative to that.
