That may not be any help to Pools.

Administration would mean a 10 point deduction, but and this is the reason it won't help Pools.

The date for the cut off for going into administration has passed (last Thursday in March) for points deduction for this season with regards to Southend.

If they were to be relegated without the 10 point deduction then that penalty would not come into affect until next season.

Now if they were to get out of the bottom 4 on the last day of the season then the point deduction would take place this season and they would be relegated.

One way or the other any point deduction Southend may receive will in my opinion not help Pools this time. Now if it was Tranmere that's a different situation, but that won't happen.

Southend are selling their ground to Sainsburys and this was the only reason the judge didn't shut them down at the last hearing. I think they are hoping Sainsburys will make another payment (they've already paid £2.1m) to the taxman and therefore not go into administration or go bust. NB if they go bust like Chester we'll lose even more points.

They are supposed to be moving to a new 22,000 seat stadium. Now where have I heard of a small provincial club with a chairman who has ideas beyond all reason building a ground they will never ever fill? sctatchinghead

Only 3 as we lost down there , Gillingham would lose 3 Tranmere would lose 4 Orient would lose 0 Oldham would lose 3 (but still have a fixture to fulfil against them)
