No unfortunately he's not brown bread yet.
Apparently he's jumped aboard the gravy train and "its a great coup that one of Britains best loved and best known actors is backing the conservative party"
Can anyone name me any decent films he has starred in apart from Zulu (Stanley Baker was by far the most important actor) and Get Carter (which is decent for a brit flick).
Best loved sctatchinghead For associating with gangsters and other dubious characters in the smoke.
I'm just waiting for Barbara Windsor and Lulu to join the ranks now.

Ah, just because he's backing the tories he has suddenly become a poor actor?
Now let me see....

A bridge too far
Alfie
The Ipcress File
The Italian Job
The Eagle Has Landed
Educating Rita
Escape to Victory
The Dark Knight

Those are the good ones off the top of my head. He's done over a hundred and although some are very forgetable you can't pretend that he hasn't done some great stuff.

Out of all those i've only seen a Bridge Too Far and Escape to Victory.
Bridge too far was ok but Escape to Victory imo was shite.

Then voice an opinion when you've got something to base it on.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was good, IMHO & not a bicycle, subtitle or frenchman insight, and its in colour!

I'm basing it on my opinion that he is not a well loved actor!!
In my opinion he's also not a great actor either.
It's all about opinions Mr I:)
I hope this will suffice:)

A lot of good/great Michael Caine films already mentioned. One of my all time favourite films is The Man Who Would Be King with Sean Connery.

I also like Michael Caine and can't think of many bad films he's made.

Even Madness did a song about him and he provided his voice for it.

Maybe he's not a great actor, you know what you're going to get, but he is a national institution, and if offered a Michael Caine fillum against a Keanu Reeves or Silvester Stallone, or even Vin Diesel fillum, which way would you drop?? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

He's obviously siding with the Tories because he does'nt want to pay hefty tax on the copius amounts of money he earns from his profession. Or the interest is'nt high enough on his savings possibly?

A bridge too far is a quality film with possibly one of the best casts of all time

I've enjoyed him as an entertainer.
His political leanings are his choice................it's called democracy.
