I've noticed them using the yankish expression 'match up' a lot instead of fixture or even match.

"barce v inter in the semi will be a terrific match up!" WTF?!
or even when a players marking A.N.Other player...... "Terry up against Rooney will be an interesting match up......" banghead

also this new thing about a player having "a picture in his head". I even noticed claridge saying this about a zillion times on the radio the other night........."sometimes he hasn't got a picture in his head, but when he has the picture he can......blah blah"

the only picture I have in my head is mostly one of Winona Ryder without her under garments on...which is possibly why I'm not a footballer.

Anyhoo, I digress.....commentators = idiotic not nice people

I've heard that on CNN, the Americans always uses the singular form of the verb whereas we always use the plural. I've always thought using the singular form sounds quite odd.

It's the same with the Olympics where everyone seems to medal.

It's worse than Scooby Doo for medalling kids.

More idiotic commentary at tonights game, suggesting the game was all over at 3-0 and they can take Rooney off now.

Total disrespect to a team as good as Bayern who have showed them up by grabbing a goal and putting themselves within one goal of getting through.

banghead banghead banghead

When Ferdinand was moaning at the ref at the end (in the style of John Terry not being able to take a defeat) did I hear!?;

"He and Vidic were penetrated twice"

I must say I watched the full game, but thankfully missed that, the dirty German bastards. Maybe that's what Ferdinand was moaning about? As defenders poor though, they clearly must have been the wrong side to take one up the Wes (Brown).

It should have been over at three nil really, but the turning point was Bayern grabbing that goal late into the first half from the tightest of angles.

Rafael was a bit of prat to be honest tonight. He could and should have had two yellow cards when he fouled and then blatantly tripped the Bayern player over right infront of the linesman - who didn't see the trip.

I saw that mutley it was valencia, he later in the match jumped over schwienstieger (however you spell it) leg and the German went mad at him. Loved the way Ferguson was shouting about the germans when clearly he got his taticts wrong, bringing rooney of for Rick-O'shea

'Up top' & 'a good shift'

Both are used on this forum quite a lot and quite frankly make me want to punch Keith Chegwin in the face

So what's three consecutive wins back-to-back-to-back, back-to-back-to-front, semi-detached-to-back? Nurse, where's my pills?
