the way i see it 2 of them are must win, exeter and stockport, and two of them are must not lose, wycombe and orient.

8 points from those four games will leave us not needing much from the other four games. it will also take points from teams down there with us.

in truth it looks like barring miracles that stockport and wycombe are down. the other 2 relegation places will be filled by any 2 from 6 as i reckon yeovil and walsall are safe.

on their recent displays against us i cant see tranmere or southend picking up too many points. gillingham also have some tough games left. most of the bottom teams still all have to play each other and the results of these games will be hugely significant. we havent really got any tough games left as almost all the teams we have left to play are woefully out of form.

heres how i see our games panning out :

orient away : this is a game we have to get at least a point from. if we lose it moves orient 5 points clear of us and with a better goal difference. on the games where we have played them over the last 2 years there shouldnt be much between the sides. a 0-0 draw would be a great result. orient have won ONE of their last 10 games and in those 10 games scored only six goals. this is not a hard game mr turner. this is not opposition we should be losing against.

brighton home : brighton have climbed to mid table and have nothing much to play for. that said they are on a good run at the moment and play well away from home. if the crowd get behind pools this is a game we can get something from, though its another where a point wouldnt be the worst result of all time.

wycombe away : another must not lose game. 5 of wycombes last 6 games have been draws. the other was a loss to stockport. a draw again would not be a bad result and should be achievable.

stockport home : 3 points is the only acceptable outcome here. a boost to the goal difference would be a bonus. they should be down by the time we play them and have only won a handful of games all season.

colchester home : fighting for a play off spot but havent won any of their last 6 games. they couldnt beat stockport, wycombe or carlisle, so they shouldnt beat us. a point would be okay, 3 would be better.

walsall away : another team in awful form with one win in their last 7 games. they are mid table with nothing to play for. another game where we should get a point from a team we thrashed earlier in the season.

exeter home : exeter have won 2 of their last 12 games, and their away form is dire. a must win game and surely 3 points for the lads ?

brentford away : we should be safe by the time this game comes round and can have a bit of a party ?

I can see us getting eight points, will that be enough?

Hope you're right chip. rolf If you are i will gladly buy you a pint at Brentford in celebration. :coool:

I reckon, and this is what i think we're capable of as long as Tubby picks the correct team. banghead

Leyton Orient (a) Very winnable (as was Yeovil, doh) but i fancy 3 points
Brighton (H) Winnable but difficult, never thought they'd be in any danger anyway with Poyet as manager. I'll take a point.
Wycombe (a) Again winnable all depending on selection and attitude. Mustn't lose. 1 point.
Stockport (H) Think we'll win this comfortably. 3 points
Colchester (H) If things are going according to plan up to now, which is a big if counting on Tubby. Possible result but for now i'll say 0.
Walsall (a) Beat them easy up here but i'll take a point now.
Exeter (H) Think we'll be cruising by now. Easy win.
Brentford (a) Up early, sunglasses out. :coool: Train to London. Might have a few drinks on the way  maybe a few more in London  before heading to Brentford. rolf Buy Chip the aforementioned pint, more beer   then we can actually watch a match chilled out looking forward to another season in League 1. :coool:

How's that sound. sctatchinghead All the above assumptions are based on CT picking the best players and not playing people out of position, sods law says *even if by pure luck you piss about with something enough times you have to get it right eventually"
So here's hoping, COME ON POOLS! rolf rolf rolf rolf

but we need one of the strikers to hit some goal scoring form

It would be nice if Mr. Tubster would play more than one striker. 7 goals in two home games against Carlisle and Southend then Boyd out and Monky up front. wtf banghead

I think we should be aiming to win all of our remaining home games. Certainly there are some where a draw wouldn't be terrible but the teams still to visit us are either no particularly good or, in the case of Colchester, are looking out of form. If Turner picks the team that beat Southend and Carlisle I'm confident we'll get wins in those games.

Anything gained from the away games should be considered a bonus. A win v Wycombe would be nice as I'm planning on going to that one

I still have a feeling that anything less than 4 points this weekend could end up being the killer moment. But we will see.

From Friday's Mail: Turner said: "We'll certainly have a different team out on Saturday to Monday."
