After listening to Turners comments on pools world it seems he saw a different game to others who were there yesterday, but that seems normal for him. What is annoying me is his continuation of insisting after nearly every game that the players gave everthing but were unlucky yet again.
So if he thinks the players are giving their all why are we losing?
1. The players are not good enough
2. The managers tactics are wrong
3. Other teams have more 'effort' to give
4. We are the most unlucky team in the league

If his after match comments are similar to what he tells the players behing closed doors then how will they improve as they clearly have to to get the results we require. Turner is not going to be replaced this season so where do we go from here?
League Two!!!

i think people read too much into managers comments. Most of them speak from the same handbook, using standard replies.

we lost, we weren't outclassed. We move onto the next game which is more than winnable.

Picking the holes in every single thing he says will not change a single thing.

He is hardly going to say we played shite is he.

I think things have gone stale with him in charge though....a definite step backwards IMO.

I look at the team and see so much promise, i just hope he does not take us down. Div 2 would be a nail in the coffin for me....

It was the same under Scotty who every week came out with the same bollox that he couldn't fault the effort of the players.

Lets just take it a read that they will at least try, it's how bloody well they apply the effort and skil that is the issue.

We now need to start beating teams consistently and putting back to back wins together and I for one can't see us doing that as we have too few quality players who can a. keep a clean sheet and b. score when given chances. Of the forwards only Boyd when he can be arsed and Brown look like scoring the rest don't. Not good enough when we concede at least one every game to win enough points.

The teams around us have to play the top sides but i bet when it comes to the squeaky bum time they will take points off Norwich, Leeds etc as the pressure build. We haven't done that and it will bite us on our arse.

Sorry if that is too pessimistic for you but it is how i see it and how i feel.

Losing 1-0 at Millwall is not a bad result but the shyte Turner spouts is why a hell of a lot of people don't like the bloke. Why doesn't he just admit he's out of his depth. sctatchinghead
