Has anyone had any dealings with these people before. I am thinking of a career change and maybe doing some sort of part time studying and I think that this may be the best way to do it. I can't attend night classes as i work shifts so I think that studying from home is the way for me.

One question: how self disciplined are you? if you can answer 'extremely then go for it. Any other answer forget it, you'll drop out if there is no one there to push you. There are lots of excuses for not studying today and without the self discipline you'll use them all. This is the reasons that degrees from the OU are held in such high esteem.

Take no notice of the pie muncher

I started one a few years ago, but had to pack it in due to a change in jobs, its a bit hard to get back into the swing of studying and depending on which course you do there are quite a few hours needed

But if I get the chance I'll start again

With the constant threat of my place (Nissan) shutting down in the next x amount of years I think it is more a case of having to be disciplined. Nissan keep opening up factories in areas of cheaper labour eg India, South Africa, Russia, so it is getting more and more difficult to convince the blokes at the top that we are the right place for future models.

I did a course with the O.U. and found that the coursework and back-up provided by the Tutor was excellent. One word of caution though......if you drop out you will still be expected to pay your full fees.......... rage
