Quite fancy an indian, do you have to pay to park over the marina at night or is it just during the day?

Think it free after 6pm , but if you leave car there and it still there at 8am you could find yourself with a ticket when you pick it up.

Just been report on local news, drains giving off bad smaell on marina, putting people off their food by all accounts. May be worth trying somewhere else.

The drains are collapsing under the car park at the Marina. That's what's behind the parking charges. When they were built the drains were not burried deep enough and are now collapsing under the blockpaved parking areas. Hartlepool council are happy to adopt the roads and car parks but have told Mandale Estates that they should fix the drains and relay the car parks properly first. Mandale won't do it and have introduced parking charges to force the councils hand. They know it is unpopular.
Also, the drains lead straight into the dock and do not drain into the main sewer as they should.
Mandale Estates are completely to blame but the business holders down there are suffering for Mandales mistakes.

but......who passed the plans for the construction of the area and it's infrastructure, drains, etc?
Both parties are to blame in this if that is the case.
I wonder what backhanded incentives were available to push through such plans.. cough...

It has been suggested in certain circles that everything that the TDC built was done on the cheap and not to usual standards. If these latest allegations happen to be true it would appear to support that theory.

you could be right, before it got built the job centre had what they called a jobs bank list you put your name down to get construction jobs, but the only people that i heard who were working on the marina were on et(extra tenner)they were doing a lot of the grounds work laying footpaths etc.
