Absolutely shocking news.

What an appalling way to die.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family back in Georgia at this sad time.

Tragic. The clip is on youtube.

Im not sure if I should post it on here as its obviously not pleasant so please dont watch if you are likely to be upset.

It looks a very dangerous sport.

Probably the most decent thing to do in my opinion. Usually I believe in free speech, but I think it's too soon for it to be on there.

they could just enter him anyway no one would be any wiser, unless he won a medal.
Its the way he would want to go, 90mph down an icy shoot in a coffin ending up in a firey furnace.

It was just on telly here, the sports channel, CCTV5. Showed the medics trying to bring the poor bloke back with CPR. You would have thought that they'd have made the course so it was impossible to hit a steel pole, although it's a very dangerous sport anyway.

Cant disagree with that. Im sure if it was the UK, being so ridiculously strict with health and safety we would have been forced to put fluffy cushions around the posts.

Oh and a sign at the start of the course saying "This event will hvae you travelling at speeds of up to 150 kmph, so please wear a helmet"

Now, we complain about how many health and safety rules there may be, but when an accident happens....

The question I think people have to he ask themselves is: Would this have happened in the UK, where there is so much focus on health and safety?

I think questions like that now have to be asked.

Yeah but surely many of the complaints are about kids being banned from playing conkers and climbing trees and that, not fatal accidents in extreme sports?? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead
