Whatever does in the rest of his career won't make his spell here any better, he was awful. I suppose it was our nasty fans fault.

I didn't see people sticking up for him while he was playing for us, why? Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it!?

oh he was dire at times but he did improve as the season progressed, but then slipped away again.

No confidence though behind his defence and in front of the barracking.

pleased for him, for despte not coming up to scratch for the

Image

he was a canny bloke

I also wish him well at Ipswich.
He wasn't the worst goalkeeper we ever had and always had time for a chat.

Met him a couple of times and he did seem a really nice lad, I'd have no qualms in him doing well elsewhere I can't see him doing it consistently at that level though! If he does fair play to him.

He's got time on his side, so if he turns out to get a decent career out of the game then good luck to him.

At the moment he aint doing too bad really - Ipswich are on the up and have performed well as a team with him there, not saying this is down to him and him only but with Rich Wright out until March/April he could well get a good run in the team.

I don't care if he sends his mam nad nana flowers every day. I can only base my opinion on what I saw on the pitch and the general concensus was that we could do with a better keeper.

Concurring. Even though the defence was terrible and you can’t solely blame the lad for the problems we had conceding goals, he did cost us ALOT of points.

Just one in a long line of players who have gone on to better things after being "very iffy" at pools! I agree with those who have said that playing behind a back four totally devoid of confidence didn't help the lad. Then of course there are those fans who wanted to blame him directly for every defeat. Sure he made his share of mistakes but maybe, just maybe, Turner was right when he was ridiculed for saying he was a good keeper.

The fact he's signed an 18 month deal at Ipswich doesn't mean he's any better than we thought he was. He was signed as cheap cover and has done ok and earned a proper deal. I'd imagine Keane is still looking for a number one and he could find himself on the bench again by the end of this month, if he stays in the team I honestly can't see how he's going to establish himself as a regular because after watching him for two years he quite simply isn't good enough.

Analogy time. If I was forced to walk to London and the only lift offered to me was wagon carrying 20 tons of pig crap, stunk to high heaven and the hygienically challenged driver was asking me if I thought sitting on a box of barbed wire was OK, ...I'd agree with him profusely... till I got to London.

I believe that you can blame a rather noisy element of our home "support" for this, who over the years have slated various players probably destroying their confidence....low and behold they get away from Pools and come good.
