8. Of the ten highest-attended matches at the Vic, how many did Pools win?

None, 7 draws & 3 defeats, Sheff Wed match wasn't in the top 10 attendances.

I must be doing no.9 wrong, cos I'm getting 10 different teams. sctatchinghead

Unlucky! Attendance at Huddersfield was 9968, and the (official) attendance at Darlo was 9987!

O well close but no cigar, excellent post though MJ I enjoyed doing that, look forward to all the answers. You maintain your title, Hartlepool FC top statto.

And I bet everyone was off the top of your head.No reference to your own site or any other.

So where were we...

Still waiting for answers for these

3. Which team did Pools play most often during the last ten years?
Clue: Micky Barron has scored against them

Southend

7. Which were the only two teams that Pools beat in front of five figure league crowds?
Clue: one in the north-west, one in the south-west

12. Which midfielder scored most goals for Pools during the 2000s
Clue: Played slightly fewer games than Sweeney, scored one more goal

Darrell Clarke

14. Which opposing player scored the most goals against Pools in the decade?
Clue: Surely no clue required for this all-too-familiar gadgie?

lambert?

19. Which player made 59 appearances in a calendar year, equalling Phil Brown's club record?
Clue: Didn't Humphreys miss an LDV game at Scunny?

nelson?

20. Which two players were named as substitutes over 100 times?
Clue: You've already got Foley; hasn't Mark Cook been getting a lot of bench time lately?

provett, hollund?

21. Which striker was the only person to play against us in every year of the decade?
Clue: He was spotted for a while in Lancashire before spending time as a thief. He then went up market before donning a new strip for a couple of years. He has recently been seen at a Roman colonia.

howard?

23. Who were the only two players to score 20 goals in a calendar year?
Clue: you got Boyd already but the other wasn't Miller or Watson, who managed 16 (in 2000) and 14 (in 2002) respectively. And I was counting their penalties

hendo?

25. 21 former players scored against us during the last ten years. Which three scored more than once.
Clue: You got Steve Howard who scored 8 times (plus another twice in 1999). That just might give you a clue to an earlier answer! Ian Clark was also right (whether or not one of them was really a Barron og, it was credited to the ginger genius). You're missing someone who Cooper borrowed.

No, he's second on the list. But look at the answer to Q25!

To be honest I presumed it was Howard but thought someone must have already guessed him and it was wrong so couldn't be arsed to trawl through it.

What a bunch of thickets they are on here....
