The goverment have given the FA a £2.5m 'loan' to promote the world cup bid for 2018.

Cos the FA are short of a few quid aren't they! Farking disgraceful.

I quite agree.

Instead of spending untold millions on this bid the FA should just send FIFA a letter asking them to state one good reason why England shouldn't get the world cup the next time its due to be staged in Europe? It's our turn, the rest of the world seems to like the way we do football and we already have an excellent range of stadiums to use.

Unfortunately the word bid, as in world cup bid, seems to mean grovel now. If the government thinks there's even a remote chance we won't impress that ar#ehole Blatter and his cohorts then more money will be spent. I would love the world cup to be staged in England but, like the Olympics, it seems the cost:is it worth it ratio is becoming slightly skewed.
