I was under the impression it was 30p. Yet a corner shop on the Central is charging 50p or so I've been told today, and by all accounts it's not against the law. Though post offices and hopefully most shops charge the set price.

Just don't buy your stamps from there.

It's not that expensive really is it?

If you personally can deliver a letter from one end of the country to the other for less than 50p then go for it.

I'd say that if somewhere is selling an item approx 60% more than a shop up the road then its fair enough to deem it expensive.

I can send an email to someone in New Zealand for free and it arrived there before I've turned my computer off so 50p would be an expensiv e and slower rate than your magical post service.
