I've just read about this - absolutely disgusted! How the hell are people expected to travel that far for a hospital. The timescale will literally cost lives.

Methinks its as good a subject for a one issue political party as any and far more important.

Is the plan still to build one of these so called super hospitals on the old Samsung site at Wynyard, if so when will it be expected to open, no doubt it will be at least 8 years or even more. Are we expected to go to North Tees until this opens then. When will our hospital be closed?

Me and the mrs are looking to start a family in the very near future and I don't want my kid being born through smoggie land

the closure is already under way and has been for some time
apart from the micro biological lab being shifted to NORTH TEES this week
there are already a number of satelite clinics set up round the town and area for people to visit rather than clog up the halls of the uni hospital
the old DWP office in Tees street is now a centre for retinopothy checks and chiropody too late to save it

but as it is riddled with MRSA they wont get my vote
