Can anyone answer me this. Carlisle and Millwall appeared to me to be similar teams, average run of the mill League 1 teams who will finish somewhere betwen 7th and 15th in the table so how can we put in two diametrically opposite performances against them in a period of 5 days. Today Liddle, Humpreys, Sweeney and McSweeney were outstanding, Boyd and Bjornsonn terrified their defence. Collins,Austin and Hartley were dominant and we absolutely played the Cockneys off the Park. Only down side was another rush of blood from Polly Flinders in the first five minutes, made up for by excellent goalkeeping thereafter. Well done to the whole team

Put it this way he was outstanding in contrast to some of his earlier woeful performances this season. if you were following the game you will have noticed that much of our domination stemmed from thr crucial area of central midfield..................an area I think occupied by Humphreys and Anthony Sweeney. In fairness it was difficult to single out individuals from a tremendous home performance.

I agree he was a bit better than his earlier performances yes. I still dont think he does anywhere near enough. Runs all game but never seems to do anything. Think our front 2 held it up very well which helps the centrel midfielders out a lot. Actually maybe Bjornsson will bring the best out in sSweeney in regard to giving him the ball at the end of his runs?

To be fair, after a 3-0 win its a bit pedantic to criticise anyone.

After five minutes today, i said to my mate this will be 0-0, cos these are two average teams, and recently we look like we struggle to create anything. I'm glad i was proved wrong on the result but i still think apart from the goals it was an average game between two average teams, but however for now i am happy with average/mid table because i think we can build on this defence for next year.

Last year i thought we would concede every time teams went forward, and now i'm starting to see how bad Micky Nelson was last year, i was one of Collins biggest critics, and i thought he was one of the slowest players i've ever seen, but him and Liddle look like a good partnershtp to me, Austin is great for this league and Hartley is steady and i'm sure he will improve.

Although again in the first hald Flinders made a mistake he still looks good for this league.

We now have a striker who looks like he has a great pass on him who may well set up more than he scores imo.
