can someone please tell me what service the stewards provide..............I know the club has to employ them to keep the 'authorities' happy but I just cant think of one time when a steward assisted me

All I've ever seen stewards do is tell you to remove the top off your coke bottle.

I prefer them to muskers to be honest. A lot of stewards are much more down to earth than your average scuffer on match dutylooking to cause chew.

When we got beat at home by darlow in the play offs (Gabiadini muged us), their players came off the pitch down the tunnel and a couple of people in the crowd stormed over to the tunnel and got in the face of the darlo players. 1 smacked Gabiadini in the head, he turned and a near fight/stand off ensued. The three stewards who saw the whole thing and were within 3 yards all turned and ran away. I saw this
I think this shows why old blokes/soft women/violent bastards shoudln't be stewarding crowds.
At least the police force have been veted and trained. There are still a load of numpties in the plod but not as many as stewards, mmmm

My third'ish favourite chant at a steward - any one know who started it? a classic. Saying that I dont think anyone joined in, coz everyone was laughing too much - so who sang it on their own? They wont remember coz it was too slurred.

we had loads of shit off stewards at forest couple yrs back now had 2 arrested went notts court and got off with it they worst in country at forest rage

some police at footy go way over the top, look at what happened at Halifax the first time we played them, one of my mates who was only about 18-19 got smacked over the head becasue he was stood in the wrong place, however the police didnt even take into account that the stewards told us we could stand in that area of the ground becasue the away end was over crowded and people were getting crushed.
