Hugh Cornwell Band didn't disappoint!
Rocked The Academy again with HCB
Played the whole of his highly acclaimed album HooverDam
Then the whole of the classic Stranglers album Rattus!
Punk-tasic as was Caz on bass she's punlicious and sang
vocals to Princess Of The Street!
Encore was Golden Brown and No More Heroes!

Just written & off to the press shortly but heres a sneak preview

Quote:
Despite heavy rain in Newcastle Alabama 3 still manage to pull a sizeable crowd into the O2 Academy.Missing the devine Ms Devlin Love, who is taking time out to have a baby, the band still present a 3 pronged attack line as Larry Love hits the stage fully limbered up to take on all comers for the full 12 rounds of sweet acid house country alongside the heavenly Aurora Dawn and,as ever supported by long term partner in crime the very Reverand Dr D.Wayne Love.
Tonights show is a heavy sound driven by a twin drum beat as D.Wayne tells of the “12 Step Plan” and Larrys vocals as gruff as ever deliver “The Mansion On The Hill” and the aptly titled “Bulletproof” with Aurora Dawn oozing style & presence as she delivers the soulful backing vocal.
Many of the favourites are there such as “Mao Tse Tung” and the cautionary “Cocaine Killed My Community” the protest of “Woody Guthrie” ending with a chant of ‘Love music hate racism’ before the crowd pleasing Sopranos theme tune “Woke Up This Morning” sees the band leave the stage.
They return with Larry Love proclaiming that ‘Just because Ive burned my bible baby,it don’t mean Im “Too Sick To Pray” and closing the show with the opening track from their debut album “Converted” urging us all “Lets Go Back To Church”
Theres no doubt that we will go back to church as soon as the ‘First Presleyterian Church of Elvis the Divine’ returns to town with Alabama 3,the hardest working & still the most entertaing band on the road.
