I've been looking for gigs to go to in my area and come across 'An evening of spoken word with Henry Rollins'.

Is it me that thinks this is a bit of a cop out?

Fair enough, spoken word makes sense if you're Howard Marks, but is Henry just being greedy so he doesn't have to pay for a band and roadies?

I could never take him seriously after the 'You're hard' song by Half Man Half Biscuit.

And I'm going to see Dreadzone instead.

Not at all. I've seen him and he's brilliant. I'm a bit cynical but it's basically a stand-up comedian talking through life experiences and reading a few poems. Essentially it's Henry Rollins being Henry Rollins. It's cheaper to get in too, meaning that he's probably on the same wage if not less.
