Gary Ablett: Hartlepool provided a different threat and a very good threat I have to say, I think they're a smashing side.

Anyhow - quickly, Stockport outpassed us first half but I wouldn't say they completley outplayed us but they were better than us.

Second half we were the better team and were unfortunate not to win it.

Referee was mental. Behan goes for a ball, missing their keeper Owain Fon Williams (who is a great keeper by the way), their keeper slides with the ball in his hands, goes out of his area, realises he's out and then starts rubbing his leg and the ref books Behan. Defintley no contact, worse Behan did was have his leg too high. Behan then had a go at Fon Williams for play acting.

Then we were denied two stonewall corners within mins.

Re Behan - I must have been further over than you (I was left of the goal) and it looked from my angle that he did catch Fon Williams, foot into thigh. What annoyed me more was that Fon Williams carried on at the ref, pulling the leg of his shorts up and pointing at the marks, even after Behan had been booked.

Ref did make some curious decisions (how their right back got away without a yellow after taking Monky out in the second half I don't know) but there have been worse....

From where you say you were on the left I was nearer to the tackle on Monkhouse you refer to, and sorry it was a cracking old fashioned hard tackle, he got the ball. Yes in this day he could be booked for intent but if it was a Pools player and he had been booked, never mind sent off I would have been complaining.

Harris, Hunter, Giles hard old fashioned tackle, although them three were known to get the man. Monkey over reacted in my opinion and could have been booked for the shove.

It was pretty much directly in front of me. The keeper was comfortably in the area and Behan did make contact with his leg. A booking was fair and the keeper was definately trying to send him off. The ref was crackers with the two corners mind stpid
