He isnt worth the time arguing with he thinks their stadium is fantasitc. If you think MK Dons, Donny etc are brilliant stpid

He is living in a dream world clutching at straws to get a bite, knowing full well that they will have the "best" ground in the conference next year, let him have is glimmer of hope and concelation.

You cant make a silk purse out of a shit sandwich

A question for loan_star really... as a genuine Darlo fan doesn't it boil your piss to see some ignorant out-of-towner continuing to brag about that lead weight of a stadium that is helping to drown the club you love?

Sussex, we play at the Vic because it is a ground with a capacity of just under 8000 right in the heart of Hartlepool. If we ever play anywhere bigger, or expand the Vic, it will because there is a pressing need and we have outgrown our current ground. We are not close to doing that at the moment. Building a ground 3-4 times bigger somewhere out by Greatham would kill us.

Nothing wrong with the stadium itself, its just no good for us unless we were to get to the championship which is highly unlikely. The idea of a new ground was probably right, just not what the sort that we ended up with. I even told Reynolds to his face but theres no telling people like that they're wrong. The stadium will ultimately be the clubs downfall unless things change off the pitch.

Relying on someone or a company to sub you for a million or so a year isnt being well run, its being lucky. If sticking to a budget we can afford gets us relegated then so be it. Im sick of being bothered about it, but thats to do with the way football is run in general & the obscene amounts of money being paid to third rate so called stars at the top level. Thats why smaller clubs get in trouble, trying to keep up. Also the fact that theres a risk of a looney gettting hold of a club & building oversized stadiums or racking up debt while asset stripping.

Your right we wouldnt fill it, but thered always be a few more away fans at that level. No reason why crowds of 10-12k couldnt be achieved at that level.

There is nothing wrong with a stadium that has 25,000 seats yet will only ever get a licence for 10,000? This is factual. The infrastructure around the stadium is too dangerous to allow any more than 10,000, and even that is pushing credibility. The stadium is a millstone around the neck of DFC and until you move you are on a life support machine. I know as fact that the fire brigade and Police have both aired there grave concerns about the viablilty of the stadium. The council will not spend the millions to improve, and completely change, the road system around the stadium. Not in a million years. They could never justify it to the rate payers. It has to be the most ludicrously thought out construction project ever. Couple all of the above with the lack of match day experience, ahving to drive there, and suffer the hold ups, and parking charges, it all adds up to the exact opposite of what you said at the top of the page.

Well I guess Reynolds original idea was to do all the surrounding infrastructure as & when it was needed but we all know what happened there. All I'm saying is that as a ground theres nothing wrong with it, its just no good for us. Only the head in the sand types would still rave about the place. Its all hypothetical anyway, we'll go bust before we move.

no chance.

None whatsoever.

We when we were at our peak during the Cooper years were playing awesome football and were getting 5000. if we did get promoted we would have maybe attracted another thousand if we were lucky.

Even in a ground like yours with a large away capacity, no team would realistically bring more than 1,500.

IF you had got to the Championship your crowds would have been lucky to hit 7,500.

it is the most stupid, pointless stadium in the entire world.
