I would like to lodge an official protest re the above. I was only trying to keep law and order.
And it's Nobby Jack, not Donald Winpenny.

That film they showed us all at school about the young lad who was a good footballer who took a short cut across the train tracks and he got his foot stuck and at the end you seen him in his bed looking at his boots on the back of the door. Mind you it done the trick i never went no where near train tracks

Eyes and people stairing at me, still freaks me out to this day. Think it was something to do with the shining and the two little girls. That is and has been the only film I have ever been scared of.

Mampi used to be shit scared of war of the worlds and the music on it. He confronted his deamons this year by going to the stage version in the metro arena.

Aye, the flooded lavvie is always a creepy one.
They make my middle kid cry inexplicably???

Aside that, most Public Information films used to do the trick, be it frozen pipes, Fireworks ones, and especially the grizzly 'Clunk-Click' ones of the '70s. I remember billboard posters of people's shredded faces being particularly shittifying. Oh, and the hammer and peach one...

Worst ever thing for me was, back in the days of the Cold War, being shown the Raymond Briggs cartoon 'When the wind blows' by a rebel teacher at Martyrs. 32 kids left that class soiling themselves and writing their own suicide notes. This was meant to be an end-of-term treat! It's still very uneasy viewing, and is serialised on Youtube, for the very brave :uhoh:

Were the books any good? Was the tv series based very closely on them?

I'd be more scared walking along Milbank Road at night. And Castle Dracula was probably cleaner than some of those houses.

I mean, Dracula never put his settee on the front garden ... did he?

A lot of his books are good, he writes under psyd.. er different names as well. I remember "The Lotus Caves", "The Guardians" & The Sword series (can't remember the full name) as being great as a teenager.

I wonder if some of the village locals in that film said something along the lines of ,"we don't talk about such things round these ere parts," or " we don't like strangers round these ere parts," or "I wouldn't hang around these ere parts if I were you."
I could never figure out why anyone stayed in a little village where zombies came to eat you during the night.
You wouldn't see my arse for dust
