A couple of girls I know run an English restaurant in town (talk about carrying coals to Newcastle).
Since for convenience they get their stuff printed in France, certain language errors are liable to creep in, so thorough checking is needed.

Unfortunately when they thoroughly checked their menu, the only error they thoroughly failed to spot was "YORKSHITE TEA".
It's become something of a tourist attraction so they're not intending to change it soon.

P.S. the girls are not cuddly middle-aged housewives, they're two crackers. The problem is they only like girls.

Penistone....South Yorkshire....Some wag pinched the 't'!!

Hett....Near Durham City....a little bit of white tape over the crosses on the t's!

They were both in a national newspaper.

Anyone remember when the Throston Grange direction sign on the Hart Village roundabout had the 'a' removed?!!!!

Hett is a lovely little village with a wonderful pub there that only serves game, in its menu that is. Apparently very nice if anyone likes that sort of stuff

There's a "Pratts Bottom" in Kent. There are probably several, but one is a place name.
