The last two times we have been in this division we got relegated in the 3rd season.

I wonder why that is?

If we can get through this season, I really believe we have arrived, as a genuine league one side, that could challenge.

Negative moaners need not reply.

The alleged experts claim that the second season is usually the most difficult (watch Hull and Stoke in the Prem this season), but Pools never did follow the usual rules did they?

The annoying thing is that last time we really were a genuine league one outfit & Scotty destroyed us.
This time is anybodys guess, all we can do is wait & see.
The first priority is getting a fiver off Mutley this weekend

Most teams get 'found out' after a season or two. Hopefully the fact that we have nearly a full new team this season will help us dispel tradition. Over recent seasons teams knew that they could easily beat us by either playing the long diagonal ball  or winning free kicks anywhere is our half and shooting at the hologram. This season other sides will have to work out new strategies.

I posted something similiar weeks ago - spot on!

I have several cocnerns, but you cannot knock CT for trying to change the squad. Maybe my biggest concern no one of here will listen to! The second coming has never worked in Pools history see Newton, Houchen, Allon and ironically the nearest to success has been Paul Dobson in 1983. Orient got rid of Boydy because he was slow and unfit, despite his good touch, movement and scoring prowess! After 3 years of good goal scoring, goals may be a problem and without a clean sheet in pre season it looks like 9 months of struggle. He ho as long as we are at least 5th of bottom then fine!

To be fair to Joe Allon, his record in his injury-hit second spell was 22 goals in 59(+4) games. Not bad at all in a poor side. The main problem with Allon was getting him on the pitch.

None of this matters of course. What happened with Allon, Houchen, Baker or anyone else has no bearing on what is likely to happen with Boyd.

What happened to Joe Allon. Is he still coaching at Leeds.
