So according to folklore, if it rains today, it will rain for forty days.

At the moment...it's sunny down here, a little cloud, but sunny.

Maybe there's hope for the summer yet.

I may be wrong but I believe the weather we will have has more to do with the position of the North Atlantic Drift, and other meteorological conditions, than whether it rains today.

Just a theory.

This after the sunniest Wimbledon that there's been in modern times.

The All England Club spend all that money on that roof for Centre Court and it only rains for half an hour or so on one day.

The summer's not over yet....

But consider what folklore has achieved in Darlington. Influencing Atlantic Drift would be child's play.

The hottest ever recorded day i England at 38.4C was the day we went to Peterboro on the first day of the season and won 3-4. All Pools scorers were debutants. Strachan, Robinson, Nelson and Robson. All now moved on.
Happy days.

Also our first day in League One. What a great day, we didn't know if we could compete at that level and after going 3-1 down, we thought we couldn't.

Was it? sctatchinghead

Now, I always thought it was day the temperatures reached about 102F in Gravesend - I should know about it because I chose to visit Lakeside on the hottest day ever recorded.

We waited for the Thames ferry from Tilbury to Gravesend and it was unbelievably hot then whilst we were waiting.
