Just noticed that they finished 3rd in the dutch second division last season.

Had they finished one place higher they would have been playing against PSV and Ajax this season.

Now bearing that in mind, and the fact that Pools played a mainly reserve side against them, it seems that losing 4-2 is actually quite a creditable effort.

Or should I be panicking?

panic if we're still getting beat in august when it matters 4-2

At the moment, just move onto the next one.

If this trip helps improve fitness, bonding, training etc, then it's a success, results are not important.

p.s. saying that if we'd won 9-0 some on here would be the opposite and picking us for promotion.

Or complain that the opposition are too easy, and why shouldn't we try ourselves against better teams...

I remember when I went to Holland and we won the firts game 12 - 0 and the second game by a similar score. As already said people a) either expected us to romp the league or b) said we shouldn't be playing against such poor teams.

I know we would all rather see wins but lets put this all into some perspective!!

We have had two very good run outs...............against .....on paper.............quality opposition.

That means that our players will have worked their socks off, just trying to get possession of the ball.

Job done for me.

Ideal preparation.

On our more negative note:

where the fook is the new left back, and striker we so desperately need?

There are those who'll moan if we lose and have an orgasm if we win, nonsense of course, the results that count, start in August.

Thanks for the pearls of wisdom, oh also Exeter got hammered last night 3-0 so they are down an out before the season starts as well

On the positive side for them; they didn't concede 4 and they won't be finishing bottom.

Its a FACT that if expect to be shi te and you will not be disappointed...

Losen up if we're getting humped by four goals every game in September I think we'll all start worrying.
