...set in on 12th Feb 2005 when Brentford won at the Vic in the FA Cup.
Before that only two teams had won more games than us in the division. After that we took only 19 further points out of 17 games.

Since that Brentford game our league record has been P68: W16 D23 L29. Work it out. It's barely a point a game!
So Wilson is wrong. It's not 50 games of disappointment; it's nearer 70!
Since that Brentford game the squad has failed to find any consistently good or even average form for Cooper, Scott, Stevenson, and now Wilson.

The team against Brentford was Konstantopoulos, Nelson, Clark, Westwood, Ross, Robertson, Tinkler (Williams 31), Sweeney, Humphreys, Boyd, Porter (Istead 89).

So what the fook happened on 12/02/2005 apart from our losing both full backs shortly afterwards?
Seriously.
From world beaters to also-rans overnight. That sort of thing doesn't happen for no reason.

One observation- Very soon after that match, Ross kicked off and said that he would never play for Pools again, saying it was making him depressed etc.

He fooked off because he was homesick and under the thumb!

How can you get home sick when you only live a few hrs from your home town, I could understand Porter saying that, but not some nob jocky from Scotchland

The thing is, he was happy to play for us until that day. Whether he was covering something else up by saying he was home sick remains to be seen. I'm not sticking up for him or out as I think he is one of the biggest pricks to play for Pools.

But after the Brentford game, things went a bit sour. Ross kicked off, the peformances certainly dropped, Cooper's body language seemed more down hearted, there were a few rumours going around of Cooper and Robertson falling out, the Walsall game (which for me is the worst game under Cooper's reign) and Cooper one of our best managers was sacked.

We've then got Martin Scott and team spirit plummeted.

Stepho's main aim seemed to be to get the players on side but after his last post match interview, he mentioned that a few players weren't on side.

Now we've got Danny Wilson and he says the team has lost confidence. Reading between the lines he also said the players lack something under their shirt and between their heads, which suggests that he doesn't think some of them have the heart and willing to play.

So since the Brentford game, we've been on a complete downfall in terms of commitment and attitude.

Interesting point - may not neccessarily be that game of course, just something that may have been going on at that time
