Ordered the clubs millenium history book.

I remember receiving an email asking to get the order in as the deadline was looming for the cut off date to have an inscription placed in the books cover.

The book was ordered and paid for at the end of March 2008. A while ago now we received an email from the club stating that due to some technical problem there would be a SLIGHT delay.

Today er-indoors rang the club to enquire about it and was told they could give us no further info about it. banghead

Has anyone else on here ordered the book and have you heard anything regarding it being completed. sadx

After all this time I wonder why the delay. sctatchinghead

I never ordered it myself Mr.Mad....over the moon I never....but I know people who have and like yourself are still waiting!!!! confised confised confised

As much as I love IOR and how much they have done for Pools over the years, and hopefully many, many years to come....the 'Centenary Year' has in my view been a disaster....and more OFF the pitch than on!!!! confised confised confised

The Pools backroom staff needs a big shake-up....but they don't seem to listen!!!! confised confised

But if something happens out of this I might change my mind....and this just isn't me....it's a helluva' lot of Poolies that think the same....

http://www.pooliebunker.co.uk/newbunker/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24108&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=Oi, You!....hartlepool

Will they listen....who knows?!?! confised confised

But they HAVE to start listening or we'll end up with the 'Hardcore' of 1,900 soon if they don't!!!! confised confised

And I and 'WE' all don't hope that doesn't happen....again!!!! confised confised confised

I looked forward so much to the centenary year and even more to what the club were going to offer us to celebrate such a massive event for our club.

What a let down most of it was,it started pre-season with the fixtures on offer and the season ticket deals seemed to get a lot of people upset(although I personally saved money thanks to a mate who buddied up).

What happened on the pitch is now history, but I have never wanted a season to end so much as I did at Bristol and all the tension was over once we knew we were saved. Lots of reflection on the long journey back.

There WAS one highlight amongst a bad year and that was the centenary bash held at the Borough hall. This was a great night and one I never will forget seeing all those players of the past at one place. PG,Elvis and the media department did a great job for us to enjoy. clappp

The carry on with this book has just capped off one if not THE worst season for me and this is sad as it should have been one of the best. sadx

Yes It's only a book for crying out loud but come on these were ordered in MARCH 2008 and it is not good enough to be told there is no further info for you. banghead

Thank god what we have seen and heard so far about next season it wont be long before the memeory of the last one will be just that.

BRING IT ON THE 2009/2010 LOOKS LIKE A GOOD ONE TO START THE NEXT 100 YEARS. rolf

The centenary year meant nothing to me, I don't see why it should have been different to any other year.

As for describing it at your worst ever year, that's an astonishing statement to make, I think you could do with opening your eyes and looking around the football league, then you might appreciated what you have got, rather than what you wanted.

Aye still waiting for mine too!

I believe there was an "inadvertant" change of author mid way through the production, which has caused the delay.

Top marks and congrats to Mr Katcha though, who produced his Century Of Poolies book early on in the centenary year.

It's got to be asked how one man could make such a success of his book and how the club could make such a total "balls up" of theirs!

I've paid for it and am also still waiting - maybe we should all demand our money back en masse?

I dare say that's what will happen anyway. I can't see this book coming out at all.

Yes Mr Mad I paid for mine as well - and over a year later am still waiting. Last letter I had from the club ( the second delaying letter ) was on 19 December 2008. It was full of apologies for the delay and the inconvenience. Five montls later and there has been no further word on the matter.

It really is not good enough to be taking £30 from people and having them wait like this with seemingly no one able to tell us what is happening , much less when we are liklely to get the book. sadx sadx

So the centenary year meant nothing to you, fair enough. As I said I was looking forward to it expecting a lot and in the end was glad to see the back of it(my opinion).

Please oh please do not come on here and patronise me, asking me to look around and appreciate what I have got just because I thought last season did not live up to MY expectations. I described it as one of MY worst seasons because that in my opinion was exactly what it was. Hardly an astonishing statement as you describe it as.

Believe me I do look around and see what is going on and I do very much appreciate what we have, but surely no harm in wanting a bit more last season than what we ended up with in what was described by many as the most important milestone of the club.

For those waiting to hear about the book er-indoors rang the club again today and was told they are hoping to have it out by the end of June.

I can understand what ptbap is saying about this not being the worst season ever, you and I know you've supported Pools through many poorer years than this one turned out to be, but I'm with you in expecting much more from what has turned out to be an incredibly anticlimactic season.
