Class!!!!

I know some dont rate him but im happy with that. Get a decent left back behind him and we are sorted down the left hand side.

Well I said I would have let him go, if it meant we were going to get a new team, but from what I have heard about others, I think this is great news. clappp

I still rate him, form is temporary, class is permanent.

Welcome aboard Monky.

Happy with this. Andy Monkhouse at his best is one hell of an asset, a player who would get his game at most League One clubs. What he needs to do is reproduce his best more consistently, or at least cut out some of the indiscipline when things aren't going his way. I'd settle for him being pretty good most of the time rather than part superb part liability.

Wait till Tax Paying Poolie reads this, he wanted him to refuse a contract, he simply doesn't rate him.

Wait for the flak coming from mr TPP I can't see it taking much longer

I know where TPP is coming from because Monky can undoubtedly be an infuriating player especially away from home, and you and TPP have seen him in more away games than me. But we've all seen his ability when he is on song. If we can get him somewhere near that level most of the time we've got a player.

MJ almost my words exactly to TPP, we know how good he can be, the fact he doesn't perform as we know he can is so infuriating, as you say a Monkhouse playing to a good standard in most games through a season is better than excellent perfomances in half a dozen games and hardly performing the rest of the season

I wonder if his hitty (and boy is it hitty)-missy form at the end of the season was due to certain uncertainties about his future.
If he's settled and motivated now, I can see him being a huge asset for us again. Like Nelson was in 2004-2005 after his contractgate.
Imagine a Monky who plays like he did against West Ham (and on the wrong wing to boot) playing for us week-in week-out.

Great news that is. He's a great player for us as well.

I've just read the report where he said staying was a "no-brainer". That'll do for me. It seems to put to sleep all the speculation - and there was a lot of it when Mr Wilson was here and also more recently - about discontent both from the player's and management's side.
As far as I'm concerned this is one of the best signings we'll make this summer. Posh, you can stuff yer Tommy Rowe! clappp

Now let's get down to brass tacks Mr Monkhouse!

Edit: I'll be happier when he gives up rugby like.

when Monkhouse gets on the ball he's quality. Hardly any other player at this level has his head constantly looking around to see what's on when he has the ball at his feet, to the extent Monky does.
He is clearly thinking about the game and when he comes alive he is a spectacularly good player.
