On Saturdays afternoons he used to brew up this ferocious bubbling mass that made your eyes sting, complete with bay leaves, like a swamp in the fillums, and it could only be done then because the old girl was out. The only people who could 'eat ' it were the old man and for some reason, the dog, which barked with an Indian accent afterwards...and if he caught you, you were obliged to try a 'sample'. which left you with an arse like a blood orange, such was its potency .... to this date, it still gives me the dreads ...any food you dread....?

Sandwiches with mayonnaise in. Mayonnaise is horrible, yet sandwich makers include it as it acts as some kind of preservative or something.

How anyone can eat fungus is beyond me. It's neither animal or vegetable. It lives on rotten and decaying things. I ate one by mistake once, and it had the texture of death.
