Frostwire is more reliable than Limewire.

I have heard that isohunt.com is a fairly decent one, but you need to download something like Bitlord or Bittorrent for it to work

I sometimes use LimeWire and it has never gave me a problem. Just download the files that have more than one host, normally they are virus free. Theres some good sites where you copy the URL for a music vid on youtube into the site, and it'll download the song file for you for free. www.vidtomp3.com is pretty good. Might need to refresh a couple of times.

There is one I use, called Napster, £10 a month, downloads speedy, no malware or virus issues whatsoever

Limewire is just one of more than umpteen interfaces for the Gnutella network. It has nothing special the other clients don't have. I even written an interface for Gnutalla myself.
Gnutella was good its day but nowadays you're far better off with Torrents or with Edonkey2000 (e.g., e-mule). As someone said earlier, Shareaza is good; it can do them all ... BUT!!!! ... beware! Someone hijacked the Shareaza domain a couple of years ago and you could well end up with a steaming pile of nastyware if you're not careful.
The true Shareaza site is on Sourceforge.

Not that I download any stuff myself like?

Not any more, that is.
