what a RARF
Says our pen was a joke, and that theirs was more of a pen if anything - err, what penalty appeal was that then?
He says they should have had a penalty when Ian Moore was allegedly fouled?? When the f-uck did this happen? In the last match they played?
It f-ucking never happened last night

I think he meant when Sweeney & ALB got in a muddle, and somehow ALB managed to get the ball after Sweeney managed to clear it off the line. Never saw Ian Moore appeal, mind...

ALB was extremely careful not to wipe out the diving tw-at, I thought, and Sweeney did brilliantly to atone for not following the ball through when he thought it would carry to the keeper (but didn't)

From my position in the CK stand ours looked a stonewall penalty.

Even from our end it looked a pen.

We're not arguing with it.

Yet on the Mill House terrace, a few of us thought it was a howler of a decision.

I suspect we may have to reassess Boyeson, he's fond of giving us pens if memory serves.

I think he reffed that Bournemouth game where we were 2-1 down going into injury time, won 3-2 and had time to have 1 disallowed & miss a pen. (to be fair the disallowed goal was so he could give us the pen, Appleby scored, but he had already blown)

A quick Statto check reveals he gave us pens in the following other games

Southend 4-3 last season
Burnley 1-0 League Cup 2006
Brentford 3-1 2005

So that's a minimum of 5 penners he's given us.

He also gave Blackpool 2 in Scott's last game, so he's not shy.

Boyeson certainly seems to have had some eventful times reffing Pools. 33 yellows 4 reds and 10 penalties in 15 games

FFS stop caring what other managers say. They are programmed to defend themselves when they lose.

Having said that, I left Sky Sports News on last night and heard Gus Hiddink reply to the question "were you worried you wouldn't get a goal" with "I have to be honest and say yes; I was just figuring out who I could substitute."

Fook'n 'ell that's a ground-breaker that one.

The pre-programmed reply is "No, not at all, as long as we were creating chances we were always going to score; you just have to be patient. I'm confident in my team selection."
