On Tuesday night I will be travelling to Swindon to watch each and everyone of you pull on a Hartlepool FC shirt.

A journey in the region of 600 round trip. And returning home somewhere in the region of 02:30 to 03:00.

Now I know this also means each and everyone of you will be getting home possibly later than me. But at a total cost of nothing to you, in fact you may well achieve some bonus payment through your contracts.

Now as a life long HUFC supporter I have witnessed many defeats and can accept that Pools' will not win every game we play.

But when I accept defeat it is usually within the paramoters of that the 11 (possibly14) players who were on the pitch for the game did at least give 100% and fought for the shirt. Not to much to ask from a fan really that is it.

Over the last season and this one I have missed 1 game, so work out the expense incurred by myself and many others over that period.

You are the ones to blame for the situation we as a club find ourselves in, a situation that could find us relegated back to division 4 (in old terms) now give yourself some professional pride and ensure that relegation does not happen to us, in this our centenary season of all seasons. Next season or the season after some of you may move on, on yesterday's performance that would only be to a team in a lower league than we currently are.

Maybe if anyone from the club is reading this they could invite me into the dressing room prior to or after the game to actually give a fans thought to you all, I probably wouldn't be a restrained as the manager may have been after all I'm just someone who actually helps to pay your wages and none of you can put your hand on your heart and say that over the last few weeks you have actually earned them.

You have 14 games left this season, 14 games in which to achieve something like 15-16 points to ensure that the club I love along with many others obtained safety, that begins on Tuesday against one of your old managers, surely that in itself is motivation. But the simple motivation you need is that when you run out on that pitch on Tuesday evening there will be supporters in the away end who have sacrificed a day to do 600 miles supporters who would have forked out something like £80-£100 to travel on a Tuesday night to support you all in that Shirt. So as you take your huddle prior to kick off or give each other a handshake and gee yourselves up for the game, just take a look at the away end look at us. supporters and say well lets do it for them. That not to much to ask is it?

If we lose by a dodgy decision, if we lose because they were the better team, I and those stood there will accept that.

If we lose for lack of passion, lack of fight, lack of desire, lack of committment we simply wont.

The ball is now in your court its upto you now to get this club safe, no lacking bottle, no lacking fight, get off your arses and get out there in the next 14 games and get us safe. for that you will get the support from the terraces, you will get the support on these message boards.

Start on Tuesday, a new day a new game hopefully some points.

He wouldn't stand a chance anyway. Who in their right mind would employee a fireman with no experience of football management?
