Monky had a cracking game last night but my shout for MOTM was Sweeney. up and down the right wing all night, and made 2 or three crucial tackles after making the box to box runs.

Sweeney with monky and clark close seconds

Graham is a very good all round centre forward

I'm a Monkhouse fan, but think he has been inconsistent most of this season, back to near his best last few games.

I don't particularly rate him at League One level, he is one of a few that have struggled to make the step up. I'm not convinced his attitude is right either. However, he looks a much happier player since Wilson left and we're starting to see the best of him again. I wasn't there last night but I think he looks a lot happier now that Sweeney is behind him.

Is it only me who thinks he could be converted into a very good centre forward?

He is a clever enough player and when he went up front last night we caused them no end of problems, if as I think will be the case we haven't signed anyone by Saturday I'd go with Monky and Joel up top at Brighton without a doubt.

he has good aerial strength and he's a great finisher, so those parts of his game are already in place.
Obviously it's a different role playing with his back to goal a lot more, rather than picking the ball up in deeper, wider areas and running with it like he's used to.
He's certainly versatile enough, but I would only use him there as an emergency measure.
I still think it would be better to use out and out strikers and keep Monky as a goal threat from the wider positions as he is now

Agreed, Monky was excellent. EAsily our most creative player. You have trust in him that he will keep the ball no matter how many opposition players are around him. His ban is very badly timed! Sweeney was outstanding too last night. I know some people think he is better in midfield but he used to 'hide' too much for me. As a right back i think he is excellent, a natural right back in fact. Clark was immense too, he dug nelse out of the mire a few times (yet again)

Agreed, and worth a start alongside Joel - is a better option than either Mackay or Henderson - ok another player out of position but give him time to adjust and I think it could be a good move
