I have just spent the best part of the day with my grandaughter, (14 months old) and her mum and partner,
seeing her delight and awe at the day and prezzys, remembering her mum at the same age and how she was,was and is what christmas is about, spending those few wonderful hours together, forgetting about , work, bills, credit crunch, ect....

I hope all you young ens with young family enjoy the day with your loved ones, being together, and savoiring every single moment coz in a flash its gone.........

only the memories remain!

Aye, it's grand to find a little oasis like this.
But I think once one has passed the first flush of youth, Christmas is often tinged with a bit of sadness. This year, a friend rang me on Christmas morning, said that her plans for the day had fallen through, but refused to come round to us for Christmas dinner, which was a bit unsettling. Presumably she spent the day on her own, but I sort of understood why. Strange time of year.

I've had a great Christmas so far despite not having many kids around and despite being under recovery from a major operation.

And it ain't finished yet.

We do proper Christmases here, not like the frogs! banghead
