Things seemed to be slipping away, no win in six games and a drift down the division with a relegation battle on the horizon. The recent change seems to indicate that the club have more ambition than the former Manager was satisfying and in the absence of any explanation from the Boardroom it seems that performances were the catalyst.

The first game under the new arrangements gives an emphatic win, a move three places up the table and the relegation battle goes off the map.

Chris Turner is no stranger to success with Pools, lets hope he gets to see the job through this time.

I'm looking forward to the realistic prospect of going to see them win in the new year.

I don't get this thing about disliking Chris Turner.
Some people say his lack of success at Stockport and Wendy proves he's no good as a manager - does it bollocks - unless I'm mistaken he happened to have some pretty long term success at another club and left them with a promotion winning team.

I mean, for fook's sake, when the good times started rolling at Pools, Turner was the one who put the engine into gear (after first being asked to haul the side out of the shit). Didn't we really want that?

Yes he left us for a bigger job.
I've done that a few times myself but I can't ever remember getting any hate mail about it.

Let me put it another way. If it was announced that the Tubster was going to be put permanently in charge, would people be talking about relegation or would they be sooner talking about promotion?

He joined his home town club who are a "bigger club" than Pools, as much as it fucks me off to say it.
Turner always gave everything he got in charge of Pools, and he already knows the set up and obviously has a good relationship with Uncle Ken.
I'd welcome him back right now as he seems the logical option.

Also read a quote on Sportinglife from Turner which seemed odd.
Quote:
"I spoke to Danny (Wilson) on Monday afternoon, after the chairman, and Danny was very enthusiastic for me to step into the role.

Bit confused like sctatchinghead is Mr Head construing my post as being hate mail re Chris Turner. I suppose the bit where I said I hoped he gets to see the job through this time was taken as a jibe at his past allegences. I did have this in mind but also the fact that he's only been appointed on a temporary basis

I was fed up after the results of the last 4/5 weeks and thought Friday's was great. Also reading some bunker reports about improved defensive performances I was greatly encouraged and pleased that Turner appears to know what he's doing after several posters on here have aimed accusations of quite the opposite at his predecessor.

In fact I couldn't understand some of the regrets expressed on here when Danny got the bullet although some of them were from doubtfull sources who thought Middlesbro' was in the east riding.

Just to dispell any doubt well done Pools for being ambitious and decisive and keep up the good work Chris Turner.

One swallow does not a summer make and all that............

Pools won a game against weak opposition, lets get carried away when we defend well against a good attacking team. Nevertheless a good win.

Not at all Mr Raff. I was looking for a Chris Turner post to latch onto the end of and along came yours.
