Duffy and Monkhouse may play in the FA Cup as Danny Wilson is asking for permission for us to play them, which suggests we could be signing them in the transfer window?

It would be a massive boost have Duffy available for Macclesfield.

I think you're right, if Duffy plays it would suggest that it's nailed on that a deal has been done for a permanent move.

Maybe.

And if he goes at the end of his contract or for a considerable sum then who could blame him? He's far too good for this league. Besides, I think that we have adequate cover in central defence. I would also consider switching Jon Daly to central defender should Nelson go onwards and upwards.

I've thought that since Rotherham away last season when we where under the cosh in the second half Daly was magnificent defensively he won everything!

His career goalscoring record is more akin to a centre half as well

I don't think Duffy will be allowed to play, but fingers crossed.

That game was precisely the reason I mentioned it. He was amazing, Nelson could have had a lie down because nothing got past Daly that day.

Unfortunately, Daly put nothing past anyone either........

But I still like him.

Daly at centre half? Not for me. Yes he did well at Rotherham for half an hour but he's unbelievably slow is regularly poor in the air. It's bad enough having him leading the line, nevermind trying to keep the defence together.

The thought of losing Nelse and having him as a replacement makes me shudder.

Also, I reckon that even if Duffy does play, it doesn't necessarily mean he'll sign. Hull know he's about 7th choice and are probably keen to get plenty of goals under his belt and a bit of recognition, but even still I'd be surprised if they let him play.
